Ocarina Workshop June 21, 2025 1-3pm

Join me for a hands-on experience at Empty Shelf store in San Gabriel, CA. You will learn how to pinch and shape clay into an ocarina - a wind musical instrument with a mouthpiece and finger holes.

Step-by-step guidance will be provided in this two hour workshop. No experience necessary but I recommend this class for ages 16+. Materials and tools will be provided and you can expect to make one or two pieces during this time. I recommend wearing something you don't mind getting a little muddy or you can bring an apron.

*Please note that I will need to store and fire your instruments to create the final product which will be ready to be picked up in approximately 4-5 weeks.

What is Empty Shelf? 

Empty Shelf is a curated art and book shop located at the Mission Art Center in San Gabriel, California. There is free parking available nearby. 

What do I need to bring?

I will provide all the materials and tools, you only need to bring your imagination.

Can I bring my child?

This workshop can last two hours and we will be working with clay. Due to the length and some more delicate steps in the process we do not recommend this for younger children. The store hosts a variety of artists and their wares and we would like to respect the space and keep any muddy fingerprints off the products.
