About Me
Michelle Lee is an artist in Los Angeles. I enjoy things that are part whimsy and part weird. I love a bad horror movie and things that are aggressively cute.
I enjoy switching between mediums as my mood sees fit. My original paintings are made with professional grade watercolors, gouache, or acryla gouache. I make my ceramics at a local studio where I occasionally teach and do technical work. My pieces are made with a sense of play and snippets of daydreams.

Watercolors & Gouache
Watercolor is my primary medium - the light and luminosity are an integral part of a composition. It can be a little unpredictable but learning to let go of the control and embracing the painting process is part of the joy. Occasionally I will switch to gouache for different effect or add details using ink.

Ceramics
I began my journey into ceramics in 2024. It challenges me in a very different way and provides an alternate outlet for creativity. There is something fascinating about bringing a sketch to 3D or translating a design to something other than paper.

Live Painting Demos
I often bring my travel palette with me as a way to pass time or to demonstrate painting at events. I enjoy doing small pieces as a way to engage with attendees and hopefully spark creativity for someone else.

In Person Workshops
Join me in my workshops where we learn how to make a monster friend from clay, a musical ocarina, or paint a miniature watercolor.
